SeaCurity Rescue Marker Buoy

This article is a combination of a marker buoy with a recovery loop and thus fulfills two functions:

  • Rescue equipment, similar to any other rescue loop

  • marker buoy

The signal light and warning flag at the top of the buoy are located approximately 2 meters above the water. The flag and signal light are clearly visible even in strong winds, as the recovery loop stabilizes the buoy in the water and the weight keeps it upright. A sea anchor prevents excessive drifting. The buoy is also equipped with a whistle and reflective strips. This fully complies with the requirements of ISAF Special Regulations, Section 4.22 a) and b).

Upon reaching the buoy, the injured person can place themselves between the two arms of the rescue loop and hold on to the harness system. One end of the harness is equipped with a stainless steel carabiner, which the injured person can loop around their body for additional security.

When the rescue vessel approaches, the buoy is pulled toward the person using the loops at the top. If this isn't possible, the person can be lifted out of the water using the strap, provided the strap is securely wrapped around the person's body.

The SeaCurity Rescue Marker Buoy is available in two versions:

1. Packed in red bag (manual release)

The product was designed so that the helmsman of a sailboat can operate the release sling with one hand. Therefore, the buoy should be attached to the railing with the Velcro straps so that The container faces outward and the handle for the release mechanism faces downward. If the helmsman activates the buoy by pulling on the handle, the buoy falls into the water and immediately inflates. This marks the scene of the accident as quickly as possible. The signal light on the tip of the buoy begins to flash upon contact with the water.

Specification:

  • Inflatable body material: polyurethane coated nylon fabric

  • Inflation mechanism: Halkey Roberts 840 manual trigger

  • CO-2 cartridge: 60 grams with ½ `` thread

  • Manual inflation valve

  • sea anchor

  • whistle

  • Reflective stripes in the upper area

  • Stabilizing weight

  • Packed in a bag with velcro for attachment to railing

  • Bag color: Signal red

  • Weight: 4.0 kg

  • Packed in ABS container (automatic release, more ballast weight, AIS pocket)
  • Dimensions: width 26 cm, height 19 cm, depth 16 cm

2. Packed in ABS container

This buoy is a further development of the product described above. This version features an automatic release mechanism, the MK5, from UML. When the container is opened, the buoy falls into the water by itself and then inflates automatically. The container is made of durable ABS material and has a vent screw on the back.

Additionally, two pockets at different heights have been added to accommodate AIS systems. These pockets are designed for the SEAANGEL AIS systems from FT-Tec GmbH/Austria, which are also available from us.

To ensure that the buoy remains as upright as possible in the water even with AIS systems plugged in, we have increased the ballast weight by 1.6 kg.

We also offer the corresponding replacement cartridge sets for reloading the buoy after it has been triggered.
